Jean Le Rond D'Alembert, a 17th century Frenchman, who was a mathematician, physicist, philosopher and engaged in a number of scientific activities, developed and participated in numerous studies. One of them was D'Alembert's theorem, which at the time was widely used in various sectors. As could not be otherwise, this theorem was adapted for betting and is still used today in roulette betting.
RULES:
1) Set a goal. Example: winning 20 chips.
2) Choose the value of your first bet, for example 5 chips.
3) Set a fixed value for the next bets. Let's imagine it is 2 chips.
Now follow the following logic:
- Place the first bet on the value that was set as the value of your first bet. In the example above, 5 chips.
- If you win, your second bet must have the value of your previous bet (-), the fixed amount that was set in step 3. According to the example above 2 chips. The value of your second bet, if you won on the previous turn, will be: 5-2, therefore 3 chips.
- If you lose, your second bet must have the same value as the previous bet (+), the fixed amount that was set in step 3. According to the example above 2 chips. The value of your second bet, if you lost on the previous turn, will be: 5+2, therefore 7 chips.
- 1) The player bets 5 chips and loses.
- 2) The next bet is 5+2, so 7 chips. Let's imagine that the player loses again.
- 3) His next bet will be 7+2, so 9 chips. Let's say the player wins.
- 4) Your next bet will be 9-1, so 8 chips. Let's imagine that the player wins again.
- 5) His next bet will be 8-1, so 7.
- and so on until you reach your goal or until you decide to stop playing.
If the player wins successively and the bet value is equal to or less than 1, the player must re-bet the value of his first bet or he may set other values for both his first bet and the fixed bets.
SUMMARY:
- Whenever he loses, the player adds the value of his last bet to the value of his predetermined fixed bet.
- Whenever he wins, the player decreases the value of his last bet with the value of his predetermined fixed bet.
ADVANTAGES OF THE METHOD D’ALEMBERT:
The main advantage of this method is that the player will hardly go over the table limit. Its progression is safe and does not require a high casino balance. It is an excellent method for winning on outside bets, which pay x2 or x3.
DISADVANTAGES OF THE METHOD D’ALEMBERT:
Although well known and applied for centuries, its principle is not exact. A gambler can get into a losing spiral, and because it is not such an aggressive method, recovering a loss will be difficult. It is best to use this method in moderation. The player should not use this method more than 10 times in a row.
AGGRESSIVENESS OF THE METHOD D’ALEMBERT:
Although it has a safe progression, its aggressiveness is Low. However, this method does offer some risk, even more so, if the fixed value for the following bets is high.
